The start of 2020 sees some big changes within the club as we say goodbye, goodluck and happy and safe riding to our friends of Dirtbags MTB who are now going out on their own, separating from Whitchurch CC. This is an exciting opportunity for them and we wish them all the best.
There are also some changes to our Committee. In July, Zoë will be stepping down from her role as Club Secretary and Chair that she has held since the club was initially set up 4 years ago. This is an exciting opportunity for our new volunteers to take the club forward.
This Saturday 16th November our young riders will be completing a variety of challenges to raise money for Children in Need.
The event will include a sponsored cycle along the Taff Trail and Pedal a Pudsey back and forth as many times as possible across Cardiff Bay Barrage for our youngest riders. We will add up how many miles have been completed by our young riders at the end of the event.
The day will finish with a charity family skittles tournament back at Whitchurch Rugby Sports and Social Club.
So far we have raised almost £300 but we would like to raise more so please donate using the link below.
A huge landmark for the club this year was hosting Round 8 of the Welsh Cyclocross League on 27th October. For the first race we have ever hosted it went very well. We had a few teething problems with issues with a couple of locations we had planned to use that fell through and a lot of work went into planning and re-planning but it all came together and our Halloween themed event was a very muddy success.
We even had a fun pumpkin carving evening to prepare decorations for the course to ensure the event had our very own Whitchurch twist.
